Dates for your diary

Thought I'd just highlight a few diary dates while I'm in slow blogging mode;

- This Thursday (30th) is the Kentish Town by-election in which the Green Party has a good chance of winning its first councillor in the ward. The Lib Dems have been out in force but, apparently, they have faces like wet weekends - even though the weather's been lovely.

If you can make it down there between now and then the help would be much appreciated. Email camden@greenparty.org.uk for details on how to help.

- Last year I took part in NaNoWriMo which plunges you into the mammoth task of writing a novel in a month. I didn't quite make it, but was pretty close in the end. This year there is no way I've got time to do this so thought I'd have a go at NaBloPoMo which is an ongoing project inspired by NaNoWriMo spurring people on to write a blog post every day for a month.

Now that I can do. Expect a more reliable frequency from me in November. Guest posts welcome!

- There are two international solidarity conferences that I'm hoping to attend over the next couple of months. The first is hosted by Hands off Venezuela. Their national conference is on the 22nd November. There will be Labour, trade union and Green Party speakers and it should be jolly interesting for those who like that sort of thing.

- The other conference is that of Hands off the People of Iran. That's on the 13th December. For the life of me I couldn't find it on their website so I'm linking to the facebook event. If someone with better eyes than me can forward the link I'll swap it over!

- Lastly I have the National Climate March on the 6th December. Last year was absolutely soaked so we should make an effort to make sure we can up the turnout this time. Are you listening weather? No mucking about on 6th December!

Hold on, that wasn't lastly. I forgot that the latest Bond film is coming out on Friday, which I'm rather looking forward to. Sorry. A local cinema listing described the film like this; "Seeking revenge for the death of his love, secret agent James Bond sets out to stop an environmentalist from taking control of a country's water supply." Those darn environmentalists up to their tricks again - they must be stopped!

Which aspect of the 'Hands of [sic] the People of Iran' are you talking about?

Big hands? :p

Sorry, couldn't resist!

I swear my grammar is getting worse - although my spelling remains as woeful as it ever was.

Hehe. It's just nice to be the one spotting the mistake rather than my more usual role of being the one being told he's incapable of writing anything without at least half a dozen mistakes in it... :p

I too am going to see the Bond film and see whether it is as good as Casino Royale..... I hear the Bond tune is "sh*te" but hey, I'll see what I think of it.

The first time I heard the theme tune I thought "oh my lord what is this dross" I've now heard it half a dozen times and I really like it now - weird how that can happen.

Are we in a race to review the film?
