It seems that Ingrid Betancourt has been rescued by the Colombian authorities.
She as been held for over six years by Farc rebels and is said to be in very poor health. Betancourt was a Green Senator and Presidential candidate when the Farc took her hostage after she visited a "Farc area" during the Presidential campaign, having refused military escorts.
This is great news.
