Had a difficult day.

One of the interesting things about blogging is that it isn't like a regular publication like, say, a newspaper, it will follow moods and life events in a rather close way.

The Independent will never go into mourning for a dead husband or get drunk and post a rambling, angry essay on its next door neighbour (or maybe it will - I'm definately going to buy that issue!)

But blogs will turn with their owners - happy, silly, depressed, going off the rails and saying really stupid things they'll regret. Often it means people stop blogging and readers don't know why. That host of dead blogs out there isn't just inconsistency and giving up...

Anyway, I'm sad today and so is my blog.

True... but it fill its pages with vacuous rubbish from time to time.

Yesterday they published a feature where they interviewed about a dozen individuals who wear a crucifix, a yarmulke, a turban, the niqab, and so on. And guess what... the people they talked to said that they wore these items because they were a bit religious, and so these items meant something to them... and I'm like, whoa. What an amazing revelation (though of course they missed possible issues of family coercion and so on). Nice photos, though. Where do I sign up as an Independent feature writer?

But that's a big digression. Hope things are going better for you soon.

great photo, made me laugh after an hour writing probably way too much detail on my blog about everything I've done as a councillor over the last 2 weeks.
