Adrian has reminded me to do something I've been meaning todo for a bit now - remind people about one of wikileaks sources who is getting no celebrity backing, no big cash support payouts for his legal defense and no real media attention. It's time that the world remembered Bradley Manning who is being held in a cage by an unaccountable a vicious regime.

Exposing war crimes is not a crime. The authorities have imprisoned a suspected whistle blower, and left those who committed war crimes go free.

If Bradley Manning actually did do what he's accused of - being a serving officer, taking classified documents and distributing them - then he has committed a crime.
I support him because I believe that sometimes morality is more important than criminality.

I agree Cathryn, he seems to have broken the rules for a greater cause, to stop a war crime.
What he did was probably a crime - although he can certainly argue in court that he was attempting to stop a greater crime, which if accepted I assume would be a legit legal defence.
However, he's not been charged and has no court date as far as I'm aware. He's basically being kept in a cage like an animal with no basic rights like a legal due process.
I think it's that fact that makes me angry, rather than the fact that he's having to account for his actions.
