Ah, I'm in heaven. If this is followed up by Charlie Brooker, David Mitchell and Mark Serwotka I'll have my full set of heroes.
Mark Steel in The Independent says;
the cheery note is that the Green Party has attained credibilty while retaining its principles, and seems to be the home for many people who opposed the Iraq war, oppose the rule of bankers and private finance, and feel it might be worth looking at doing something about the fact the planet's about to melt. So I'm voting for them tomorrow, and if they implode in a petty row about nothing I'm obviously a jinx and I'm joining the bloody Tories.After all if Ben Goldacre can tweet;
to be clear, even tho green party are infantile on quackery, embryo research, animal expts, etc they might still be worth a punt.Ummmm.... thanks Ben! Oh, and now there's Alexei Sayle!
One of the great things about Britain is that, unlike in a lot of Europe, we have never let extremist parties of the right get anything but a tiny toehold in our electoral system. I'll personally be voting Green this time but whoever you support you should use your vote to continue our noble tradition and keep the BNP out.If Joanna Lumley can do it, anyone can!

All male heroes ??
Unless there's something about Joanna Lumley I've not been told...
Anyway we've already got Salma Yaqoob's endorsement in the NW and WMidlands which is why I didn't mention her... the men are just slow to come on board.
Also Stand-up Comedy is very male-dominated. But that's not exactly a Green Party Policy area.
I asked Josie Long if she was going Green... no answer yet.
You can add George Monbiot to the list (at least for those not in Wales):

Good old Monbiot - I'd miss him if he wandered off.
Incidentally I'd be all for Ben Goldacre going through GP policy with a fine tooth comb and irradiating any 'bad science'.
On women - if I could draw a venn diagram to demonstrate the difficulty I would but you have one circle which is women, another that is 'my heroes' and another of non-Green Party members who have just endorsed the greens... when you take all together you're talking about a very small segment - particularly as 'my heroes' is quite small as it is.
Needless to say in the context it wasn't worth mentioning Jean Lambert and Caroline Lucas as endorsing yourself is generally considered bad form :)
Well, we've got the Marxist stand up comic vote sewed up!
I think we will do pretty well in the Euro elections, maybe, even spectacularly well.
But I've made a fool of myself before with wildly optimistic predictions.
We should get some idea of how things are going by Friday morning, with the council election results, but it will seem an age until Sunday night for the Euro result.

So it looks like Josie Long, Bill Bailey and Richard Herring are all voting Green too (oh, and throw in Mark Thomas of course for good measure).
Labour still has Eddie Izzard though :(
Jim Davidson's presumably swithering between UKIP and the other lot. You know who I mean.

Do the Tories have any comics?
Apart from The Sun that is...
Giles Brandreth?
Christine Hamilton?
Mark Watson also brings the total to 3 Comedy Marks.
