Three things I learned today

First of all I've learned that Cindy Sheehan (a middle class US version of Rose Gentle) is running as an independent anti-war candidate for congress in San Fransico against Nancy Pelosi, House Speaker and high profile Democrat. In SF the Greens get a very reaspectable 8% of the vote and seem to have endorsed Sheehan's candidature, although Pelosi seems an odd person to single out.

Second there are seven hopefuls for the Green Party nomination. These include Ralph Nader, Jared Ball, Jesse Johnson, Cynthia McKinney, Kent Mesplay, Kat Swift and Elaine Brown. I'm not sure how confident Nader is of gaining the nomination - couldn't see myself voting for him, all ego and no accountability, but perhaps that's just me.

Lastly, I have also discovered that one of Hillary's role models is John Major. Are we absolutely certain of this information?

Well Pelosi nixed attempts to impeach Bush - when the Dems took both houses there was some hope this could happen. Indeed, so fearful was the Bush admin they fired those lawyers they thought would be sympathetic to such a process (the whole Alberto Gonzales affair).

Pelosi voted for war appropriations. I'm personally not a fan of Sheehan. I think she likes being in the limelight too much. The ultimate kitsch radical.

Nader endorsed John Edwards. Elaine Brown dropped out of the Greens.

Elaine has pulled out and Nader may be backing Edwards...so I say run cynthia, run!

If Nader is backing Edwards - does this mean he isn't going to run himself - that's quite big news isn't it?
