Clarkson has a sad day :-(

Jeremy Clarkson has come a cropper it seems.

In a bid to show that the government's missing data scandal was all a fuss over nothing he published his own bank details and sort code in every one's favourite newspaper - The Sun - and included information that would help any would be sleuth discover his home address.

Clarkson stated that "All you'll be able to do with them is put money into my account. Not take it out. Honestly, I've never known such a palaver about nothing".

However, once his bank statement arrived it seems that some enterprising soul took out a standing order for him to a deserving cause (shame it wasn't Greenpeace or the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents, but you can't have everything). It appears they can't even trace who did the foul deed.

Clarkson seems contrite "I was wrong and I have been punished for my mistake." I do hate to see Jeremy in such a mess. I really do.

the truly disgusting thing about Clarkson, is that for all his petrolhead bluster, he doesn't believe a word of it. He's been known to confess in private that, like any other sane person, he thinks global warming and carbon emissions are a real danger, but that he's got to keep up his screen persona, so he can keep the ratings.

A hypocrite and a pompous arse.

I laughed myself silly when someone told me about that yesterday.

I think the best part is that apparently because of the Data Protection Act the bank can't find out who did it, or stop them doing it again.

Ideally, Clarkson should be run down and killed by a drunk SUV driver who is breaking the speed limit while chatting on a handheld mobile phone.

Jack's spot on. He's similar to US megabucks trolls like Anne Coulter and Rush Limbaugh. I don't believe their stupidities for a moment, but it's made them incredibly rich, so they don't care if they're taken seriously or not.
